Victims:
Gary Allen Hinman, 34 / Movie actress Sharon Tate, 26 (eight and a half months pregnant); Jay Sebring, 35; Wojciech Frykowski, 32; Abigail Folger, 25, and Steven Earl Parent, 18 / Leno LaBianca, 44, and his wife, Rosemary, 38 / Donald Jerome "Shorty" Shea
These people were chosen based on Manson's personal vendetta and their status of wealth. Their wealth was the reason that the LaBianca and Tate households were selected. Their niche (wealthy upper-class) and being so well known ultimately made them targets for the cult.
Suspects:
These people were suspected as being involved in the murders due to their involvement in Manson's "family" (their niche). They had dedicated their lives to the teachings and orders from Charles Manson himself.
Summary:
In the Beverly Hills, Sharon Tate and Roman Polanski were leasing a house . It was August 9, 1969. The following morning around 8:00 am, the housekeeper found the bodies. The house was formerly known as the Melcher residence, they rejected Manson’s music compilations. Later it was known that Manson told the "family" members who did this crime to “destroy everyone in it – as gruesome as you can.” All of the bodies were found brutally murdered. They were stabbed, shot, or beaten over the head.
The next day, August 10, 1969, Manson and six others went to a home where they had previously attended a party. It belonged to Leno LaBianca and Rosemary. Manson tied up the couple with lamp cord and put a pillowcase over their heads. He robbed them of all their cash. Then the family members came in and stabbed both of them to death. They wrote, in Leno's blood, "Death to pigs" and "Rise." On the refrigerator door they wrote (misspelled) "Healter Skelter." The word "WAR" was carved into Leno's stomach as well.
